1. I believe that Joel Robinson and Mike Nelson are the creators of the MST3K show. What help they could offer David, I cannot say. It doesn't seem like they'd be crusading for his respect, but I do not know these people.

2. The bottom few panels seem to be a sharing of respect and friendship between these two apparent enemies. That David has accurately portrayed this, no matter how comical the characters' appearances, is more likely fluke than due to talent.
