Notes

1. All right, so maybe it's not necessarily apparent that this is Sailor Moon. It's definitely meant to be, though, so please exercise that suspension of disbelief again and remind yourself that this is, in fact, Sailor Moon and not a young Dennis Hopper in drag.

2. Some explanation is due here: From what I have gathered, Gonterman wrote a Sailor Moon fanfic that was universally (and understandably) hated by Sailor Moon fans. Logically, this meant that Sailor Moon was bad. The piece in question, I believe, was called "Sailor Moon: American Kitsune" or SMAK for short, and can, I believe, be found at least partially on this site. Gonterman has tried to remove it from the Web as it apparently contains racist overtones, among other controversial items. A similar flap occurred with Sonic the Hedgehog as well, it would appear - this will come into play later.

3. By "Misters," the shadowy furry-thing in the background means, of course, those who write MiSTings (the Mystery Science Theater 3000 running-commentary treatment) of stories. Gonterman's greatest fame thus far has been as the butt of MiSTing jokes. A great number of his text stories are now only to be found in this format.

4. Bottom panel again: Probably nitpicking once more, but at no point in this comic did Gonterman mention he did not want to be disturbed.
