Sally Protest page 2

Notes

1. Top panel: The character on the left is Jonathan Brisby, the flagship character of FoxFire Studios. One of the more puzzling aspects of all this is that Jonathan, despite having his origins in a Don Bluth movie, is surprisingly competently-drawn, in a cartoon style, in many of these panels; David has clearly put much time, effort and love into the character. The unfortunate side effect is that it makes every other character look even crappier.

2. The uninitiated will be wondering who "Spaz" and "Harvo" are, and why they are important. In this case, I suppose I would be considered "unitiated."

3. Middle panel: In case the art, stories and general madness weren't enough of a clue for the reader, the notice that all Marvel and DC comics are garbage, except - and this next bit is the important one - those done by Image artists, should be a decent indication of the level of sheer insanity we are dealing with here.

4. The Jonathan Brisby character in this comic leads to some speculation. He is drawn more adeptly than any other character, and is quite detailed. Additionally, note his positioning - he is not looking directly at the characters with whom he interacts. It's almost like he was superimposed into a photo by someone who barely knew how to do it. Either he is a tracing of some sort, or he's indicative of Gonterman's complete inability to depict spatial relationships. Whichever it is, he's still got a goddamn mullet.
