Notes

1. If Dante Alighieri had lived long enough, The Inferno would almost certainly have included a giant David Gonterman talking about cartoons.

2. Innuendo aside, DIC is a production company. They also made the Inspector Gadget cartoon, for one.

3. The Roboticizing Sally refers to in the lower left panel is also covered in the Sonic the Hedgehog Blood and Metal comic - it's apparently the process of putting robot parts on someone. Gonterman also threatens his enemies with this Roboticizing. Not in comics. I mean real people. I'm not kidding.

4. The look on Sally's face in the lower right panel is, I believe, supposed to be a smile. She looks rather demonic, considering. Or perhaps she is stunned by trying to figure out what Jonathan is holding in his hand. I gather it to be an ice cream cone colored like the American flag, which I realize makes no sense, but consider who we are talking about here.
